At last, we are able to blog! Unfortunately, this blog is really late, but better late than never! This was in regards to my first experience with using the document camera better known as ELMO.At first I was apprehensive about using technology in the classroom, I thought, "who wants to disconnect the equipment everday...it takes so long." I had been using my technology to show United Streaming videos and the Bringing Words to Life PowerPoint presentations, but I wasn't utilizing it to its fullest extent. Finally, when the Interwrite board was placed on top of my chalkboards, I finally have limited options and gave in. After having the software downloaded on my computer and using it for just one day, I was sold and excitely pulled in any teacher that walked by to view my new gadget! I was amazed at how user friendly it is and how I can acces the Internet, my local files, Microsoft Office, and many others. When I found out about the ELMO, I didn't know what to expect, because I had never heard of it and the old visualizer that I purchased from a co-worker was outdated and never worked properly! I marveled at how easy it was for me to reconnect my cords after the training and I began using my ELMO immediately. It is so much fun and my students love it! Technology is the way to go and I am glad that I woke up before it was too late!
